Sunburn

Suddenly, the soft feel of the wool encircled his neck, forcing him to lean forward slightly. Halfway through, Kageyama felt a warm pressure on his lips. Hinata tilted his head, pulling them even closer if possible. Those smooth lips moved fiercely over his, as if they were searching for a way to satisfy a thirst he had been feeling for a long time. Kageyama could relate because he had felt that way himself until not long ago.

Too much, he thought as he placed his hands delicately on Hinata’s waist. He moaned at the unexpected contact, releasing the ends of the scarf with which he had trapped Kageyama with and wrapping his arms around him again, that time around his neck.

There were not enough words in the world to describe what he was feeling at that moment. The settler’s mind couldn’t cope with the flood of thoughts and sensations that swirled in a cascade of ecstasy.

Kageyama’s fingers managed to find their way to Hinata’s burning skin where the short coat had exposed it. And the reaction was immediate: the middle blocker took a little push and wrapped his legs around Kageyama’s waist, like an anchor tied to the ground. For just a second, their lips parted but soon came back together in a sweet, feverish dance. Little by little, their mouths started to open briefly, allowing Kageyama to feel the tip of Hinata’s tongue. Tasting the fire, tasting the need. He was so intoxicated by the experience of finally touching the sun that all he had ever desired was there. Flying higher and higher was all Kageyama wanted, until his entire self burnt, regardless of the inevitable fall into the sea.

As his lungs started to warn him about the need of breathing, he kept taking and flying, taking and flying.

I can’t stop. I don’t want to stop… But it turned out to be difficult to breathe, so meekly, Kageyama tapped Hinata’s right thigh in an intense silence for making him understand his intention. Miraculously, the middle blocker untangled himself from his feverish and entranced body. Kageyama could exhale a long breath that fogged out in front of him.

Small dots appeared in his field of vision. The truth was that he felt slightly dizzy, perhaps from the lack of air or perhaps from the intensity with which the two had let themselves go. His past self might have ended up passed out, overwhelmed but happy. The present self wasn’t willing for the world to miss the vision that was Hinata at that moment. Moist and swollen lips, dilated pupils and suggestive gaze, strands of long hair (Kageyama made a mental note of being able to sink his fingers into that tuft of hair later; it would surely be like stroking silk) stuck to his forehead. And the corner of his mouth slightly raised.

“What,” Hinata gasped, raspy voice. “You going to make a joke about how I take your breath away?”

Partida

The funeral (i)

Small red threads faded into the water, mixed with the remains of soap, disappearing through the drain. The cuts in his forearms still stung, but they weren’t the source of the bleeding.

“Oh, crap…”

Stiles ran his hand under his nose. The tip of his fingers stained a bright red. Hot water ran down his chest and back, burning.
